What we believe
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.
Isaiah 58:12
Christ has called us to see a true revival of Pentecostal ways and principles as set out in the Acts of the Apostles. To see His church filled with His presence, demonstrating the Kingdom of God by the power of Holy Ghost and exercising her authority through the preaching of the Gospel with signs and wonders following.
A Church, completely surrendered to her Lord, with a complete dependency on Him to save, to deliver, to heal, to restore, to build and return for one day. Our source to live and move and have our being is Jesus, who will lead us by the Holy Ghost and guide us into all truth.
We look for no new thing, programme or scheme of man. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He said, " My House shall be a house of prayer". Through persistent prayer, consecrated lives, obedience to the Holy Ghost, the preaching of the Cross, unwavering faith in our God, we shall see the Glory of the Lord.
Our heart is to see the planting of churches in Ballynahinch and in the surrounding towns and beyond. To send labourers to the field, whether that be local or abroad. We desire to see individuals fulfill their calling in Christ. We will give much when we have little, knowing that it is Christ and Him alone that gives the increase.
We are called to be faithful, to offer our lives to the Glory of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is the infallible Word of God.
2 Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
There is but one true God.
Isa 43:10-11 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Jesus Christ is Lord.
Philipians 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Man was created by God in His Image. Man voluntarily sinned and incurred physical and spiritual death.
Gen 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Further reading in Romans 5:12-19
Jesus Christ is our only hope for salvation.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Believers are to be baptised with water and partake in Holy Communion.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
1 Cor 11:24-25 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Believers in Jesus Christ should seek and expect to be baptised with the Holy Ghost and fire.
Matt 3:11 I indeed baptise you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Baptism in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Believers are to be separated from that which is evil. Believers are to be dedicated to God.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
The church is the body of Christ.
Eph 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Believers are called to evangelise the world and edify the body of Christ.
Mark 16:15-20 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;18.They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Eph 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Divine Healing is provided by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Jesus will descend with a shout and the dead in Christ shall rise and those which are alive shall be caught up to be with the Lord forever.
1 Thess 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
There will be a final judgment of the wicked.
Rev 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
We "According to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness."
2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Rev 21:22-23 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
